Men's basketball topped by Cairn

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks men's basketball team battled hard, but came up on the wrong end of an 104-80 decision with Cairn University in Thursday nights non-conference contest.

The Nittany Lions led in the early going and hung tight through the first half. Berks made a push late in the closes moments of the first half to go into the break down by three (46-43). The Highlanders came out firing in the second half, using a 17-5 run over the first five minutes to build a comfortable cushion at 63-48. The Nittany Lions stayed to within 14 points down with 12 minutes to go, but that is as close as they would get.

Josh Mingledolph had a team-high 16 points to go along with four rebounds and three assists, while Marquis Ferreira added 12 points and three boards. Darik Tannis-Harriet finished with 11 points, four rebounds, and three assists, Josh Ruiz had nine points and five boards. Luke Collins, Andre Ballard, and Kai Davis all recorded seven points, Ballard pulled down a team-high six rebounds.

Derian Bradford finished with 25 points and nine rebounds, while Aytor Alberto had 22 points and 13 boards. Owen Bradford added 15 points, Josh Forker chipped in 11.

The Nittany Lions will host Bryn Athyn College on Saturday, November 18 at 1 p.m.
