Nittany Lions fall to Bryn Mawr in home opener

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's basketball team dropped its home opener to Bryn Mawr College, 79-65, in non-conference action on Tuesday night.

The Owls led 17-12 after the first quarter and took a 39-27 lead into the halftime break. Berks battled in the second half and got back to within 10 points a couple of times, but Bryn Mawr answered back to stop the Nittany Lions rally.

Hailey Miller notched a double-double after recording 14 points and 10 rebounds to go along with four assists, four steals, and four blocked shots in 36 minutes of action. Ashlyn Clark matched her with a team-high 14 points, while also adding six boards, three assists, and three steals in 38 minutes of play. Liberty Stitzman chipped in 10 points, three boards, and two assists, while Mahala Ruffner added nine points and four rebounds. Keyla Rivera added a spark of the bench with eight points, Sam Hagenbush drilled two 3-pointers en route to six points. Morgan Kline finished the game with two points, six rebounds, three steals, and a blocked shot.

Hannah Binder finished with a contest-high 19 points, while Jessica Smith added 16 points, 13 boards, four steals, and four assists. Michelle JIang and Kris Pasia both chipped in 11 points.

The Nittany Lions will hit the road for a non-conference tilt against the University of Valley Forge on Thursday, November 16 at 7 p.m.
