XC concludes season at NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional

LOCK HAVEN, PA - The Penn State Berks men's and women's cross country teams competed in the final race of the season at the NCAA Mid-East Regional Championship on Saturday on the campus of Lock Haven University. The men's team placed 27th out of 31 competing teams, while the women's squad just had individual results. (Men's Results | Women's Results)

The men's team compiled a score of 736 points, which just trailed United East foe St. Mary's (724 points) for 26th place. Carnegie Mellon finished as the team champs with 19 points, followed by Johns Hopkins (66 points) and Marywood (80 points) in second and third place.

Senior Patrick O'Donnell closed out his stellar career with the Nittany Lions by placing 93rd out of 211 runners after crossing the finish line with a time of 26:50.0. Avi Hochhauser also finished off the season on a strong note, placing 111th with his time of 27:15.3 on the 8K course. Ben Carman (29:01.9) and Eli Abiy (31:44.6) followed in 162nd and 194th place, respectively. Shane Garver (203rd) and Tyler Bannon (204th) finished side-by-side, while Amir Nutter-Smith (210th) rounded out the Berks runners.

Naomi Fay and Heather Hoffman were lone participants from the women's squad. Fay had a time of 27:03.5 to place 174th on the 6K course, while Hoffman followed in 197th place with a time of 29:51.9.
