Women's soccer topped by Franklin & Marshall

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision at home to Franklin & Marshall College in non-conference action on Tuesday night.

The Nittany Lions fall to 6-7-2 on the season, while the Diplomats are now 9-2-3 overall.

F&M jumped out to an early 1-0 on a goal at the 9:32 mark of the first period. They were able to double their lead and take a 2-0 advantage into the halftime break with a score in the 40th minute. Out of the intermission, F&M was able to put the game out of reach with a goal in the 65th minute.

Sophia Gonzalez finished with three saves in net for Berks, while Emily Senko had a pair of stops in the first half of action.

The Diplomats outshot Berks by a 13-6 margin (6-2 on net), while both teams had four corner kicks.

The Nittany Lions will host Penn State Abington on Wednesday, October 18 at 7:30 p.m. That game will be a Pink Game fundraiser with all proceeds benefiting the Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County.
