WBB falls to St. Mary's on the road

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD - The Penn State Berks women's basketball team dropped its decision on the road, 60-35, to St. Mary's College in United East action on Saturday afternoon.

The Seahawks led 12-5 after the first period and took a 31-13 lead into the halftime break. In the second half, SMC outscored Berks by a 29-22 margin to secure the victory.

Hailey Miller and Lyla Spencer tied for the team lead with nine points and the duo combined for 11 rebounds, while Kayley Mattis had seven points and a team-high seven boards. Jalyn Hann added five points and five boards, followed by Sam Hagenbush with three points. Morgan Kline, who had two points, grabbed five rebounds.

Samantha Blaylock led the Seahawks with 17 points. Karon Williams and Stephanie Howell both had 11 points and the pair combined for 17 boards, five steals, and five assists.

The Nittnay Lions will travel to Penn State Abington for an United East contest on Tuesday, January 31 at 5 p.m.
