WBB drops home contest to Harrisburg

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's basketball team fell by a score of 73-40 to Penn State Harrisburg in an United East contest on Tuesday night.

Harrisburg led 10-8 at the end of the first quarter, but expanded its lead to 29-15 heading into halftime. Harrisburg outscored Berks by a 44-25 margin in the second half to secure the road win.

Kayley Mattis scored in double figures for the third straight game and finished with her second double-double of the season after recording 12 points and 13 rebounds to go along with two steals. Jalyn Hann chipped in eight points and six boards, while Morgan Kline finished with six points, six rebounds, and five steals. Lyla Spencer and Sam Hagenbush both chipped in five points.

Jayla Galbreath led Harrisburg with 20 points, followed by Olivia Richardson with 13 and Jenna Montana with 10. Bailey Oehmig had a team-high seven boards and two blocked shots.

Berks will travel south for a pair of United East contests this weekend. They will face Gallaudet University on Friday, January 27 at 5 p.m., followed by St. Mary's College on Saturday January 28 at 1 p.m.
