Second half rally comes up short against Penn College

WILLIAMSPORT, PA - The Penn State Berks men's basketball team fought back from a double-digit deficit, but the rally came up short in an 83-79 setback to Penn College in United East action on Wednesday night.

The Wildcats led 42-23 at halftime and maintained the 19 point lead with 11:15 remaining in the second half. The Nittany Lions methodically chipped away at the deficit and cut it down four points (78-74) with 25 seconds remaining. Jeff Lorah drained a 3-pointer with 15 seconds to go to pull within two points (81-79), but the Wildcats converted a pair of free throws to put the game out of reach in the final seconds of play.

Darik Tannis-Harriet led the Nittany Lions with 20 points, followed by Lorah with 14. Andre Ballard, who finished with five points, have 13 rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Isaiah Cotten chipped in nine points, five assists, and five steals, while Luke Collins chipped in eight points. 

Gavin Barrett led the Wildcats with 22 points and seven assists, followed by Alec Cooper with 20 pints and five boards.

The Nittany Lions will travel to SUNY Morrisville for an United East contest on Tuesday, January 17 at 7 p.m.
