ASTON, PA - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team won a 1-0 thriller on the road over Neumann University in a rain soaked non-conference contest on Wednesday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions (2-1) found themselves on the correct side of a 1-0 decision after falling by a similar score to Moravian University on Saturday afternoon. All three of the Berks contests this season have been shutouts, two in favor off the Nittany Lions and one against them.

Berks held an 8-3 advantage in shots in the first half, but were in a scoreless tie at the break with the host Knights. In the second half, the Nittany Lions came out firing and put a couple shots on goal that were denied by Leona Macrina. Following a Neumann foul, the Nittany Lions were able to get on the board when Emily Clapper found the back of the net at the 56:10 mark of the contest. This was the first goal of the season for Clapper.

The Nittany Lions held possession for the bulk of the second half, but could not extend the lead any. The defense held strong all game and Sophia Gonzalez recorded five saves to earn her second shutout victory of the season.
