Volleyball falls to E-Town in home opener

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's volleyball team dropped its home opener, 3-0, to Elizabethtown College in a non-conference match on Tuesday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions (2-2) dropped the first game 25-13, but then battled hard in 25-21 setbacks in the second and third sets.

Kayla Zelonka and Makenzie Shoop finished with seven kills each, while Cassie Shoupe added six and Jordan Thompson had five. Julia Rathsam recorded 26 assists, to go with five digs, three kills, and an ace. Riley Kovach had a team-high 11 digs, followed by Aubrey Hunt with nine. Zelonka had a pair of block assists, while Shoop and Thompson each assisted on one.

The Nittany Lions return to action with a non-conference home match against Gwynedd Mercy University on Tuesday, September 13 at 6 p.m.
