Women's soccer edged by Moravian, 1-0

BETHLEHEM, PA - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 setback on the road to Moravian University in a non-conference contest on Saturday evening.

The Nittany Lions fall to 1-1 on the season, while Moravian now sits at 1-0-1 overall.

The lone score of the contest came at the 36:47 mark of the first half.

Diana Pon, Faith Wavershak, and Jeyda Duran all got off shots in the first seven minutes of the match, but none could find the back of the net. Sara Hathaway had three shots on goal in the second half and Wavershak had one, but again the Greyhounds keeper was there to make the stop.

Sophia Gonzalez finished with three saves in net for Berks, while Paige Harrison and Payce Korpics combined for four stops for Moravian.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Neumann University for a non-conference tilt on Wednesday, September 7 at 4 p.m.
