Women's soccer falls to No. 14 TCNJ

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team had its three match winning streak come to an end in a 6-2 setback to No. 14 ranked TCNJ in non-conference action on Saturday evening.

Berks drops to 4-2 on the season, while the Lions improved to 4-1-1 overall.

Possession stayed in the midfield for the early part of the first half, before TCNJ broke through with a score at the 20:13 marks when the Nittany Lions defense failed to clear the ball. The visitors again made Berks pay for failing to clear the ball with a score in the 33rd minute. The final tally of the first half came at the 41:53 mark.

The Lions got three more scores in the first 28 minutes of the second half to put the game out of reach.

Emily Clapper got Berks on the board with a pass from Diana Pon at the 87:54 mark. With just over 30 seconds remaining, Adriana Lepera sent a pass to Pon, who then put a shot over the keeper and into the far back corner.

Sophia Gonzalez finished with six saves in net for Berks, while a pair of TCNJ keepers combined for three saves.

The Nittany Lions will open up United East play when they host Lancaster Bible College on Wednesday, September 21 at 5 p.m.
