Women's soccer tops Albright, 3-1

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team won its third straight contest after defeating Albright College, 3-1, on the road in non-conference action on Monday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions improved to 4-1 on the season, while Albright now has a 1-2-3 record.

Berks got on the board at the 17:44 mark when Adriana Lepera headed in a corner kick off the foot of Diana Pon. In the 38th minute, Carsyn Hyman delivered a deep pass to Emily Clapper, who took a few touches and put  a shot into the far back corner for a 2-0 lead.

Albright was able to cut that lead in half with a score just 1:12 into the second half to make it a 2-1 score.In the 83rd minute, Pon put the game away when she sent a free kick over the keepers head.

Sophia Gonzalez finished with four saves in net to earn her fourth victory over the season, while Alexis Solt and McKenna Levan combined for three stops for the Lions.

Berks will host No. 2 ranked TCNJ in a non-conference contest on Saturday, September 17 at 7 p.m.
