Baseball falls to Harrisburg in series opener

HARRISBURG, PA - The Penn State Berks baseball team suffered an 11-1 setback to Penn State Harrisburg in an United East conference contest on Friday afternoon.

Berks got on the board first with a run in the top of the second inning when David Rudisill singled through the right side to scored Chad Evans, who led off the inning with a double to left field. Harrisburg tallied five runs in the bottom half of the fifth and tacked on another run in the fourth. The home squad then combined for five more runs in the sixth and seventh.

Joe Gramignano and Evans each went 2-for-4, while Rudisill finished 1-for-4 with an RBI.

Berks and Harrisburg will square off in a doubleheader on Saturday, April 9 beginning at 12 p.m.
