Baseball swept by Penn State Harrisburg

MIDDLETOWN, PA - The Penn State Berks baseball team suffered a pair of setback to Penn State Harrisburg in an United East doubleheader on Sunday afternoon. Berks fell 9-0 in the opener and 11-2 in game two.

In the first game, Colin Templin, Chad Evans, and Logan Ewert each had a hit.

Josh Miiller allowed seven hits and eight runs (four earned), while striking out four in 5.0 innings of work. Jake Dianna tossed allowed one run in 1.0 innings of relief work.

In the second game, Berks plated a pair of runs in the top of the second for a 2-1 lead. Some miscues by Berks in the first two innings allowed Harrisburg to score 11 runs, nine of which were unearned.

Nate Trovinger finished 2-for-4, while Kolbie Reeser went 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Griffin Kay and Jase Graybill each recorded an RBI in the second inning.

Ben Berkel allowed two earned runs and struck out two batters in 2.0 innings of work. Dale Murphy struck out three batters in 5.0 innings of scoreless relief, Nick Bergman struck out one in a scoreless inning of work.

The Nittany Lions will look to rebound with a home game against Albright College on Monday, April 11 at 3:30 p.m.
