Men's golf in sixth place after Day 1 of D3 Challenge

STATE COLLEGE, PA - The Penn State Berks men's golf team sits in sixth place after the first day of the Penn State Division III Challenge at the Penn State Blue Course on Saturday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions recorded a team score of 337 strokes, which trails Penn College (332) and Penn State Behrend (335) for fourth and fifth place, respectively. Penn State Harrisburg leads the group with 319 strokes, followed by Penn State Altoona (321) and Penn State Abington (322).

Drew Morris was the bright spot for Berks, carding a 74 (+2) to finish tied for the individual lead with Mike Festa of Penn State Abington. Trevor Dydo was next for Berks with an 84, which places him tied for 16th. Luke Jozwiak (27th place) finished with an 88 and Dylan Deschamp (30th place) followed with a 91. Kolin Grogesky is in 34th place with a round one score of 94. Derek Jopp competed individually is tied for 25th after recording an 87.

Day Two of the DIII Challenge will be played on Sunday, April 3 at 9 a.m. on the Penn State White Course.
