Baseball drops slugfest to Delaware Valley

DOYLESTOWN, PA - The Penn State Berks baseball team dropped a high-scoring affair to Delaware Valley University, 28-11, in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon at Frank Wolfgang Field.

The Nittany Lions (12-15) scored three in the top of the second inning for a 3-1 lead, but the Aggies (12-16) combined for 25 runs over their next three at bats to run away with the game. Berks outscored the home squad 8-2 over the final four frames, but the damage was already done.

Kolbie Reeser went 3-for-4 with a double and three runs scored, while Colin Templin (two runs) and Griffin Kay both had two hits and drove in two runs. Chad Evans and Tyler McGarvey both had two hits, including a double, to go with an RBI and a run scored. David Rudisill finished 1-for-3 with two runs scored, Joe Gramignano and Sam Perrone each had a hit and an RBI.

Colin Amerine and Jake Dianna each had two strikeouts in a combined 4.2 innings of relief.

The Nittany Lions will start a three-game series against Gallaudet University beginning with a game on Friday, April 23 at 3 p.m.
