Farmer turns in career effort on Senior Day

READING, PA - Monty Farmer enjoyed a career-best performance and the Penn State Berks men's basketball team battled hard as the Nittany Lions were topped 91-77 by Wells College in an United East contest on Saturday afternoon.

Hassan Koroma knocked down a half court buzzer beater at the end of the first half to pull the Nittany Lions within 11 points. Farmer made a layup with 16:51 remaining to make it a seven point deficit (50-43) and layup by Korma with 12:56 left kept the deficit at seven (56-49). That is as close as Berks would get the rest of the way.

Farmer, who was honored prior to the game for Senior Day, established personal-highs in points (26), 3-pointers made (6), and field goals made (10) in a season-high 35 minutes of action. The senior guard also collected two rebounds, two steals, and an assist. Koroma also had a career-high in points scored, finishing with 20 points on 9-of-14 shooting from the floor to go along with seven boards and a steal. Ladan Graves chipped in 12 points, three steals, and two assists, while Brody Bolyn had six points, seven rebounds, and two assists. Xavian Rodriguez added six points, four rebounds, two blocked shots, and a career-high nine assists.

Ransel Rodriguez had 37 points to lead the Express, folowed by Ivan Oduro-Dompreh with 14 points and Jalen Feliz with 12. Oduro-Dompreh also had a contest-high 13 rebounds and three blocked shots.

The Nittany Lions will host SUNY Morrisville in the home finale on Tuesday, February 15 at 5 p.m.
