MBB drops home tilt to Keystone

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks men's basketball team suffered an 81-70 setback to Keystone College in non-conference action on Friday evening.

The teams exchanged leads throughout the first period, with the Giants eventually taking a 38-37 lead into the halftime break. The start of the second half was another seesaw battle until Keystone went on a 9-0 run to grab a 49-41 lead with 15:28 to play. Berks fought back and pulled to within four points on several occasions, but the Giants held on to secure the win.

Luke Collins was a spark plug all night, coming off the bench to drop a career-high 20 points on 6-of-13 shooting from beyond the arc. The freshman guard also recorded four assists, three rebounds, and a steal. Josh Mingledolph also enjoyed a career-day, finishing with 13 points to go along with three boards and two assists. Isaiah Cotten notched 10 points, seven rebounds, three steals, two blocked shots, and two assists, Jeff Lorah chipped in 10 points, four rebounds, and two assists. 

Keystone had all five of its starters score in double figures, led by Javen Flowers-Smith with 28 points. Daviel Jackson had 19 points and 14 boards, while Marcus Bauman added 14 points and nine boards.

The Nittany Lions return to action when they host penn State Abington in an United East contest on Friday, January 6 at 7 p.m.
