WBB opens conference play with win over Wells

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's basketball team opened up United East play with a 75-20 victory over Wells College on Saturday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions (1-5, 1-0 United East) started out hot, outscoring Wells 23-5 in the first quarter and taking a 45-10 lead into the halftime intermission. In the second half, Berks outscored the Express (0-7, 0-1 United East) by a 30-10 margin en route to the win.

Jalyn Hann finished had 17 points and six rebounds, while Hailey Miller notched the first double-double of her collegiate career after recording 15 points and 11 rebounds. Miller also added seven assists and three steals in 31 effective minutes of play. Morgan Kline chipped in eight points, 12 boards, three steals, and two blocked shots, Katie Davis had 12 points and five rebounds. Lekaiah Solomon finished with seven points, six rebounds, and four steals, while Lyla Spencer had seven points, seven boards, and four assists.

Ai Orita led the Express with nine pints and four steals, Morgan Adams chipped in six points and 10 rebounds.

The Nittany Lions will host the University of Valley Forge on Thursday, December 8 at 6 p.m.
