Men's soccer falls on the road to Ursinus

COLLEGEVILLE, PA - The Penn State Berks men's soccer team could not overcome a tough first half as they fell, 3-1, to Ursinus College in non-conference action on Tuesday evening.

The Nittany Lions dropped to 5-11-1 on the year, while the Bears improved to 4-9-3 overall.

Ursinus scored the first goal of the contest at the 2:22 mark and had built a 3-0 cushion after scores in the ninth and 20th minutes. Caden Wanger netted a goal, his first of the season, off an assist from Owen VanDyke to cut it to 3-1 in the 39th minute.

The second half saw a combined 21 shots (nine on target) by both teams, but neither was able to find the back of the net.

Ethan Brazier finished with 10 saves for Berks, while Peter Schoenberg made six stops for the Bears.

The Nittany Lions will travel to SUNY Morrisville for the season finale on Saturday, October 29 at 6:30 p.m.
