Women's soccer falls to No. 3 Johns Hopkins

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team suffered a 4-0 setback to No. 3 ranked Johns Hopkins University in a non-conference contest on Thursday night.

The Nittany Lions drop to 9-4-2 overall, while the Blue Jays improved to 12-0-2 on the season.

JHU broke through with a goal at the 21:24 mark of the first half and the score looked to be heading that way into the break. But the Blue Jays were able to carry all of the momentum into the intermission after tallying goals at 43:38 and 44:27 to take a 3-0 lead. Out of the break they scored in the 59th minute and the score stayed that way over the final 30 minutes.

Diana Pon and Sara Hathaway each had a shot on goal, but neither could find the back of the net.

Sophia Gonzalez finished with eight saves in net for Berks, while Emma Huntzinger and Priya Gillan each had a stop for the Blue Jays.

The Nittany Lions will host St. Mary's College in an United East contest on Saturday, October 22 at 1 p.m. Saturday's game will be Senior Day recognition as well as a Mental Health Awareness Game.
