Women's soccer plays to scoreless draw with Harrisburg

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw with Penn State Harrisburg in a rain soaked United East conference contest on Saturday afternoon.

Berks is now 6-3-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the United East, while Harrisburg moves to 5-3-3 on the season and 2-0-1 in the conference.

Both teams had goals called off over the first five minutes. Harrisburg looked to have a goal, but just prior to the the shot getting taken a foul call was assessed against them. Moments later, Diana Pon had a shot heading into the goal, but an offsides call took the goal off the board.

From there, neither side really worked up many scoring chances. Berks finished the game with 12 shots, nine on goal, while Harrisburg had seven shot, just two on target. Berks held a 2-1 advantage on corner kicks, but neither team was able to capitalize on the set pieces.

Sophia Gonzalez finished with two saves for Berks, while Sydney Mulka had nine stops for Harrisburg.

Berks will travel to Penn State Abington for an United East contest on Wednesday, October 5 at 1 p.m.
