Women's soccer topped by Arcadia on the road

GLENSIDE, PA - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team fell short in a 2-1 setback on the road to Arcadia University in a non-conference contest on Tuesday afternoon.

The first half saw neither side able to break through for a score. The Knights put two shots on frame in the first period, but Savannah McNeal was able to make the stop for Berks. The Nittany Lions best scoring chance came late in the half on a low liner by Emily Clapper, but Gabby Green was able to turn it away.

In the second half, the Knights tacked on a goal at the 50:51 mark of the period and tacked on a score in the 81st minute. The Nittany Lions continued working and Jeyda Duran was able to set up Sara Hathaway for a score at the 88:04 mark. The goal was Hathaway's fifth of the season, which is tied with Clapper for the team lead, while Duran's assist was her team-best third of the season.

McNeal made five stops in the second half and finished the contest with seven saves.

The Knights outshot Berks by a 16-11 margin and held a 7-3 advantage on corner kicks.

The Nittany Lions will take on St. Mary's College in an United East Conference contest on Saturday, October 2 at 5 p.m.
