Women's soccer topped by St. Mary's, 1-0

SAINT MARY'S CITY, MD - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 setback to Saint Mary's College in an United East Conference contest on Saturday night.

The Seahawks put a shot on target at the 1:33 mark of the game, but Savannah McNeal made the save. Over the next seven minutes, Berks had two corners and three shots (two on goal), but could not find the back of the net.

After a Berks foul, Gaby Manning drove home a free kick at the 10:18 mark with what would be the only score of the night. The Nittany Lions pressured the rest of the half with five shots and three corners, but again were held of the board.

Berks had five shots and three corners in the second half, but the Seahawks defense picked up the shutout win.

McNeal finished with one save in net, while her counterpart Kylie Wells recorded three stops.

The Nittany Lions will host No. 1 ranked TCNJ in a non-conference contest on Tuesday, October 5 at 7 p.m.
