Men's soccer plays to scoreless draw with Albright

READING, PA - Neither Penn State Berks nor Albright College were able to break through for a goal in 110 minutes of action as the two teams played to a 0-0 draw in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.

For the game, Berk outshot Albright by a 16-15 margin and had an 8-7 edge with shots on goal. It was a 5-4 favor in shots for Berks in the overtime periods, but only two shots were on target, both by the Nittany Lions.

Jose Aparicio recorded the first shutout of his career after recording seven saves in all 110 minutes of action, while his counterpart Hunter Stump had eight stops.

Shane Gleason had three shots on goal, while Jonathan Morello and Mark Pirrone each put two on target. One of the best scoring opportunities came late in the second half when Pirrone ripped a line drive from the right side of the box that curled a little too far and hit off the inside of the left post.

The Nittany Lions will travel to nearby Alvernia University for a non-conference contest on Sunday, September 12 at 4 p.m.
