MBB drops semester finale to Gettysburg

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks men's basketball team suffered a 99-75 setback to Gettysburg College in a non-conference contest on Tuesday night.

The Nittany Lions led 21-19 with 10:16 to play in the half, but Gettysburg took back the lead (24-21) with 9:31 to left. Berks trailed by as little as six points with 3:39, but the Bullets used a 12-0 run to close out the half with the score 49-31. Berks started out the second half on 16-8 run to pull with eight points (57-49) with 14:51 left in regulation. Gettysburg would not allow the Nittany Lions to get any closer the rest of the way.

Jared Houck led the Nittany Lions with 22 points to go along with six steals, four assists, and four rebounds. Jeff Lorah chipped in 13 points, three assists, and a pair of steals, while Josh Ruiz and Grant Watson each added eight points. Monty Farmer and Brody Bolyn both had six points, Hassan Koroma pulled down a team-high six rebounds.

Ryan McKeon led the Bullets with 16 points, followed by Colin Farrell with 15 and Avery Close with 14.

The Nittany Lions return to action in the new year with a home game against Penn State York on Wednesday, January 5 at 3 p.m.
