WBB falls on the road to Gwynedd Mercy

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA - The Penn State Berks women's basketball team fell by a score of 83-55 on the road to Gwynedd Mercy University in non-conference action on Tuesday evening.

The Nittany Lions were led by Katie Armstrong, who finished with 18 points, 13 rebounds, four steals, and three assists. The senior guard did the bulk of her damage in the second half, recording 13 points, 11 boards, and three steals in 20 minutes of action. Kayla Zelonka and Katie Davis both chipped in eight points, followed by Lydia Cacciola and Abby Ackley with six points a piece. Sam Hagenbush added five points and Sarah Painton chipped in four. Cacciola also recorded season-high in rebounds (11) and assists (7), while Painton grabbed six boards and handed out four assists.

The Griffins received 17 points and five rebounds from Lynzie Eggers, while Elise Sylvester added 16 points and nine assists. 

The Nittany Lions will host St. Mary's College in the United East Conference opener on Friday, December 3 at 7 p.m.
