Men's basketball edged by Penn State York

YORK, PA - The Penn State Berks men's basketball team was topped, 78-70, by host Penn State York in a non-conference contest on Tuesday evening.

Berks trailed by 12 points midway through the first half, but were able to whittle that deficit down to six (42-36) at halftime. In the second half, Berks was able to pull within three points on a number of occasions. Jeff Lorah hit a 3-pointer with 3:18 to play get within three (69-66), but York was able to hold on down the stretch.

Jeff Lorah went 5-of-7 from beyond the arc and finished with a team-high 22 points, while Jared Houck finished with 20 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, and a blocked shot. Xavian Rodriguez added 11 points and five boards, while Hassan Koroma, Grant Watson, and Brody Bolyn all added four points.

Michael Coleman led York with 25 points, followed by Deriq Brown with 17 and D'Andre Davis with 13. 

The Nittany Lions will enjoy a 10-day rest before hosting St. Mary's College in an United East opener on Friday, December 3 at 5 p.m.
