Men's golf places fifth at Alvernia Invite

MOHNTON, PA - The Penn State Berks men's golf team finished fifth out of nine competing teams at the Alvernia University Fall Invitational held on the par-72, 6797-yard LedgeRock Golf Club. (Results)

The Nittany Lions collected a team score of 339 strokes, which was four ahead of Bloomsburg University (343) and Muhlenberg College (344). Arcadia University won the team championship with a score of 311, followed by host Alvernia with 312.

Drew Morris led the Nittany Lions with a 78, which placed him fifth overall out of 48 golfers. This marked the second time this season that Morris carded a score in the 70s, as he lowered his average to 79.0 on the year. Gunnar Wegscheider had a score of 85 to finish 20th, followed by Trevor Dydo with an 86 to place 23rd. Luke Jozwiak rounded out the golfers figuring into the scoring with a 90, to place 33rd.

The Nittany Lions will compete at the Lebanon Valley College Fall Invitational on Monday, October 11 at 12:30 p.m.
