Cacciola shines on Senior Day win

READING, PA - Lydia Cacciola, who was recognized for Senior Day prior to the game, closed out the regular season on a strong note as her and the Penn State Berks women's soccer team downed Wells College, 9-0, in the United East Conference finale on Saturday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions improved to 7-8-2 overall and 6-2 in the United East, while the Express fall to 1-14 on the year and 1-7 in the conference.

On her special day, Cacciola finished with one goal and one assist. The goal was the final score of the day for Berks and might have been the finest one. The senior defensive back sent a free kick from just outside the box into the upper right 90 for her first tally of the season

Jeyda Duran recorded the first hat trick of her career, with all three goals coming in the first half. Sara Hathaway tallied a pair of goals and matched a career-high with three assists. Adriana Lepera finished with a season-high two goals and added an assist, while Maddi Monka added one goal. Morgan Bleyer recorded a pair of assists, both coming off of set pieces. She assisted on Duran's second goal with an insert off of a corner kick and followed up with an assist off a free kick on Duran's third tally.

Jackie O'Brien and Savannah McNeal combined on a shutout in net.
