Men's soccer falls to St. Mary's

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD - The Penn State Berks men's soccer team dropped a 5-1 decision on the road to St. Mary's College in an United East Conference contest on Saturday afternoon.

The Seahawks took a 4-0 lead into the halftime intermission. St. Mary's controlled possession of the ball through the second half, but it was Berks that tallied the first goal after the break.

Shane Gleason took a long pass from Alex Chamorro, took a few dribbles and sent a shot inside the far right post in the 65th minute. The goal was Gleason's team-best fourth of the season.

The Seahawks tallied a goal in the 70th minute and neither team would do any scoring the rest of the way.

Jose Aparicio finished the contest with nine saves, while Liam Delone-Bellsey and Kevin Mejicanos combined for three stops for the Seahawks.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Elizabethtown College for a non-conference contest on Wednesday, October 6 at 7:30 p.m.
