MBB falls to Penn College

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks men's basketball team battled hard, but found itself on the wrong end of an 87-79 decision to Penn College in Saturday afternoon's North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) South Division contest.

The Nittany Lions trailed 37-29 at halftime and were down by 12 (68-56) with 6:33 to play. Berks was able to get within six points on three occasions down the stretch, but the Wildcats were able to fend off a rally by going 10-for-12 at the foul line in the last 4:30 of action.

Jared Houck connected on four 3-pointers and finished with a team-high 24 points. The sophomore guard also handed out three assists and had three steals in 37 minutes of action. Xavian Rodriguez notched his third double-double of the season after recording 20 points and game-high 16 boards to go along with six steals, three assists, and one blocked shot. RJ Dixon notched 13 points, followed by Hassan Koroma with 12.

The Wildcats were led by Ben Sosa, who finished with 35 points, 12 boards, five assists, four blocks, and one steal. Damon Kreider added 14 points and five boards, while Carson Garvis chipped in nine points and eight rebounds.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Penn State Abington for a NEAC South contest on Wednesday, February 12 at 6 p.m.
