MBB edged by Wells on the road

AURORA, N.Y. - The Penn State Berks men's basketball team suffered a 64-59 setback on the road to Wells College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Friday evening.

The Nittany Lions trailed 33-21 at halftime and trailed by 15 just 40 seconds into the second half. They then rallied back and pulled to within one point (53-52) with 4:47 remaining in the game. The deficit remained at one point going into the final minute of play, but the Express would add a layup and a pair of free throws to pick up their winning margin.

Jared Houck led Berks with 16 points and five assists. He went 3-of-5 from 3-point range and finished 6-of-10 from the floor. Xavian Rodriguez added 12 points to go along with six rebounds and one blocked shot. Jeff Lorah rounded out the Nittany Lions scoring in double figures as he chipped in 10 points. RJ Dixon notched nine points, four boards, and two assists. Hassan Koroma, who finished with five points, matched Rodriguez with a team-best six boards.

Izaiah McPherson led the Express with 17 points, followed by Jalen Tribble and Zach D'Arpino with 13 each. Tribble also pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds.

The Nittany Lions will finish the 2019-20 season at Keuka College on Saturday, February 22 at 1 p.m.
