MBB falls to Keuka in season finale

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. - The Penn State Berks men's basketball team wrapped up the 2019-20 season with an 88-78 setback to Keuka College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Saturday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions led 36-25 with 7:55 left in the first period, but eventually took a three point lead (50-47) into the halftime break. The teams exchanged leads out of the break and were tied at 61-all with 11:49 left in the game. Jeff Lorah knocked down a 3-pointer to put Berks ahead 64-61, but the Wolves would close out the half on a 27-14 run to secure the victory.

Jared Houck drained four 3-pointers and finished with a team-high 18 points to go along with three assists, two rebounds, and a steal in 39 minutes of action. Lorah followed with 17 points, while grabbing a season-best eight boards. He also dished out four assists, which matched Steve Luchansky for a team-high. Xavian Rodriguez and RJ Dixon both had 14 points. Dixon notched six boards and a steal, while Rodriguez had four rebounds, two steals, and a blocked shot.

Nolan Ivey led the Wolves with 25 points and 11 rebounds, while Devin Milton followed with 19 points, eight boards, five steals, and three assists. James Barnes and Nana Oteng each recorded 15 points and five rebounds.

Houck finished the season with 70 3-pointers made, which ranks as the second most in a single-season in program history. The sophomore guard finished with a 42.7% percentage from 3-point range, which is the third best in school history. Lorah has the fifth best free throw percentage after shooting 84.8% (28-for-33) from the line this season. Hassan Koroma finished with the sixth best shooting percentage in a season after going 55.8% (48-of-86) from the floor.

The Nittany Lions, who finished the season 2-21 overall and 2-13 in the NEAC, will bid farewell to seniors Rene Alexandre and Hassan Darby. Berks will look to its returning players and newcomers to help lead the team back to the NEAC postseason moving forward.
