READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's basketball team erased an 11-point second half deficit in a 71-61 victory over Gallaudet University in Saturday afternoon's North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) South Division contest.

The Nittany Lions (7-6, 2-0 NEAC South) trailed 19-17 at the end of the first period and were down by five points (33-28) at the halftime intermission. The Bison (4-9, 0-2 NEAC South) pushed their lead to 11 (41-30) with 7:23 left in the third, which matched their largest lead of the afternoon. Berks chipped away at the deficit and went ahead 46-45 when Katie Armstrong got a defensive rebound and went the distance of the court and beat the third quarter buzzer. The teams exchanged leads to start the fourth period before the Nittany Lions used an 18-5 run to go up by 12 (66-54). Gallaudet got within eight points (69-61)  with 43 seconds remaining, but a pair of free throws by Kylie Herman put the game out of reach.

In the second half, Berks shot 58.3% (14-of-24) from the floor, compared to a 42.9% (12-of-28) effort in the opening 20 minutes. Conversely, the Bison were 48.4% (15-of-31) in the first half, but were held to 30.0% (9-of-30) in the final two quarters.
