MBB drops NEAC South contest to LBC

LANCASTER, PA - The Penn State Berks men's basketball team suffered an 82-68 setback to Lancaster Bible College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) South Division contest on Wednesday evening.

The Nittany Lions held a seven point advantage late in the first half and eventually held a six point lead (40-34) at the break. In the second half, the Chargers overcame a five point deficit by going on a 14-0 run in a five minute span to take a nine point lead. Berks got to within six points on two occasions, but LBC was able to deny any comeback bids by the Nittany Lions.

Jeff Lorah knocked down seven 3-pointers to finish with a game-high 22 points, marking they second time this season that he has surpassed 20 points. In addition, the freshman guard tied for the team-lead with seven rebounds, while also recording six assists and one steal. Xavian Rodriguez chipped in 15 points and matched Lorah with seven boards. Hassan Koroma had a season-high 13 points and grabbed four rebounds, while Jared Houck notched nine points and dished out a game-best eight assists.

Jordan Shewbridge led the Chargers with 15 points, followed by Brion Elliott with 11. Kaleb Murry and Adam Stoltzfus each chipped in 10 points.

The Nittany Lions will host Gallaudet University in a NEAC South match on Saturday, January 18 at 1 p.m.
