Men's basketball topped by Morrisville State

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks men's basketball team dropped its home contest, 90-71, to Morrisville State in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action on Saturday afternoon at the Beaver Community Center.

The Nittany Lions kept pace with the Mustangs in the early going, trailing just 25-22 with 9:54 left in the opening half. From there, the Mustangs used a 24-10 turn to take a 17 point advantage in the halftime break. The second half was a much more even affair as Morrisville outscored Berks by a 41-39 margin.

Jeff Lorah connected on four 3-pointers and finished with a team-high 19 points. Xavian Rodriguez added 13 points and six rebounds, while Brandon Wise had three 3's and finished with 11 points. Rene Alexandre recorded eight points and Jared Houck dished out a game-high and career-best eight assists.

Tyrin Miller led the Mustangs with 19 points, followed by Derek Beames with 16. Kevin Dennis notched a double-double after recording 14 points and a contest-best 10 rebounds.

The Nittany Lions will host Cazenovia College in a NEAC contest on Sunday, January 12 at 12 p.m.
