DOYLESTOWN, PA - The Penn State Berks women's volleyball team earned a 3-0 victory over Delaware Valley University in a non-conference contest on Thursday evening on the road at James Work Gymnasium.

The Nittany Lions (4-4) won 25-16 and 25-18 in the first two games, before outlasting the Aggies (2-6) in a back-and-forth third set that finally ended 30-28 in Berks' favor.

Berks opened up a 6-0 lead in the first game and eventually expanded that lead to 17-7 thanks to four consecutive service aces by Natalie Dwyer to cap another 6-0 run. The Aggies got as close as 18-12, but Berks was able to close out the set.

In the second game, the Nittany Lions used a 10-3 run to build a 12-5 advantage. DelVal got back into the game at 15-12, but Berks outscored the Aggies 10-6 down the stretch.

The Aggies went ahead 7-2 in the third game, but the Nittany Lions battled back and eventually held a 13-10 lead. DelVal got the next point to make it 13-11 and neither team led by more than two points the rest of the way. Berks reached game-point four times and the Aggies were one point away once, but neither could get the final point, until a kill by Dwyer made it 30-28.

Blair Eckel and Dwyer accounted for nearly 60% of the team's kills, with Eckel recording a career-best and game-high 15 kills, followed by Dwyer with 10. Eckel also notched 10 digs, three block assists, and two assists, while Dwyer had six digs, five aces, and two assists. Syd Himmelberger added six kills and two block assists, while Julia Rathsam had five kills, 32 assists, 10 digs, two aces. Jenna Plitnick registered a pair of aces, Marie Durkota grabbed nine digs, and Madison Hetrick had seven digs.
