Men's basketball drops shootout to Cazenovia

CAZENOVIA, N.Y. - The Penn State Berks men's basketball team fell on the road, 101-84, to Cazenovia College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Crossover contest on Saturday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions trailed 49-35 at halftime, but were able to cut the deficit to single-digits at 55-47 with 16:40 left in the half. The Wildcats closed out of the second half strong and outscored Berks by a score of 52-49 in the period.

Latrell Carroll notched his 14th double-double of the season after finishing with a contest-high 26 points and 15 rebounds. The freshman forward shots 11-of-18 from the field and was 4-for-4 from free throw line. In the second half, Carroll recorded 18 points (8-of-11 from the field) and grabbed nine of his boards, while also blocking one shot.

Matt Seip connected on three 3-pointers and finished with 20 points to go along with six rebounds, three assists, and two steals, Brandon Wise chipped in 17 points and had a career-high seven boards. Steve Luchansky added five points, seven rebounds, and four assists, while Rene Alexandre also notched five points.

The Wildcats had six players finish in double-figures, led by Majesty Wilder and Lucci Vigliotti with 15 points each. Jaceary Menes added 14 points, followed by Raishun Richardson with 13.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Morrisville State for a NEAC Crossover contest on Sunday, February 10 at 2 p.m.
