READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's basketball team hung tough early on against its nearby foe, but Albright College ran away with things in the second half to earn an 86-47 decision over the Nittany Lions in a non-conference contest on Thursday night at the Beaver Community Center.

The Nittany Lions (2-4) trailed 12-2 early in the first quarter, but chipped away at the deficit and trailed 18-15 by the end of the period. Berks came out strong in the second quarter with back-to-back layups by Nicole Kopcik and another by Katie Armstrong to give the Nittany Lions a three point lead (21-18) with 5:36 left in the half. The Lions closed out the period on a 22-6 run to take a 40-27 lead into the break. The third quarter saw Albright outscore Berks by a 32-5 margin to put the game out of reach.

Armstrong finished with a team-high 17 points after matching a career-best three 3-pointers made. In addition, she had five rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a blocked shot.
