Women's soccer tops Morrisville State on Senior Day

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team earned a 10-0 victory over Morrisville State in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Saturday afternoon. Prior to the start of the contest, the Nittany Lions celebrated the careers of seniors Megan Jardine, Charlotte Pizzuto, Karina Raykova, and Emily Stump.

Berks improves 10-6 overall and 8-0 in the NEAC, while the Mustangs drop to 4-10 on the season and 2-6 in league play.

Alexis Schoener, who tallied the first goal of the contest at the 3:59 mark of the first half, finished with a career-high four goals, while also adding one assist. Raykova and Jardine both recorded one goal and two assists, while JoJo Zolli had a goal and an assist. Emily Clapper, Sara Hathaway, and Vanessa Olivares all recorded a goal. Jeyda Duran chipped in an assist on Schoener's second score of the afternoon.

The defensive unit of Raykova, Stump, Lydia Cacciola, and Kristi Cox kept the Mustangs offense silent throughout the day. Leslie Estrada finished with her ninth shutout of the season after making a diving stop on the lone ball that was put on target.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Cazenovia College for a NEAC contest on Saturday, October 26 at 3 p.m.
