Women's soccer blanks Cobleskill on the road

COBLESKILL, N.Y. - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team picked up an 8-0 shutout on the road over SUNY Cobleskill in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) on Saturday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions improve to 8-6 overall and 6-0 in the NEAC, while the Tigers drop to 3-9-1 on the season and 1-4-1 in the conference.

Emily Clapper recorded her third hat trick of the season after netting one goal in the first half and two in the second half. Alexis Schoener tallied two goals and added an assist on two other scores, while Lydia Cacciola had one goal and one assist. Charlotte Pizzuto and Sara Hathaway each added a goal. Megan Jardine registered a pair of assists, while Jeyda Duran and JoJo Zolli both had one.

Leslie Estrada notched her third straight shutout victory and seventh of the season. The freshman keeper finished with one save in net, while her counterpart Abigail Wetsel had nine saves.

Berks outshot the Tigers by a 27-2 margin (17-1 on goal) and held an 8-1 advantage on corner kicks.

The Nittany Lions will travel to SUNY Poly for a NEAC contest on Sunday, October 13 at 2 p.m.
