Men's basketball drops road tilt to DeSales

CENTER VALLEY, PA - After a month layoff, the Penn State Berks men's basketball team returned to action with an 84-58 setback to DeSales University in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon at Bilera Hall.

The Nittany Lions trailed 47-28 at halftime, but had a more competitive showing in the second half where DeSales outscored Berks by a 37-30 margin.

Matt Seip led all scorers with 22 points and finished with a team-high nine rebounds to go along with two assists and one blocked shot. Brandon Wise followed with 15 points and snatched a contest-best five steals. Monty Farmer chipped in eight points, three boards, and matched Wise with a team leading three assists. E'drise Hightower added five points, while Rene Alexandre and Steve Luchansky each had three.

Tracy Simsik led the Bulldogs with 21 points, followed by Timmy Edwards with 15. Matt Kachelries dished out 12 assists and Keba Mitchell hauled in 10 rebounds.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Penn State Abington for a NEAC contest on Wednesday, January 9 at 8 p.m.
