MBB falls to Cobleskill on the road

COBLESKILL, N.Y. - The Penn State Berks men's basketball team dropped an 84-64 decision to SUNY Cobleskill in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) crossover contest on Saturday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions trailed 36-23 at halftime and found themselves more competitive in the second half, where they were outscored by a 48-41 margin.

LATRELL CARROLL notched his 13th double-double of the season after going for 22 points and 18 rebounds. The freshman forward shot 7-of-11 of the field and converted on 8-of-12 trips to the free throw line. Carroll finished the game with two blocked shots in 36 minutes of play.

RENE ALEXANDRE went 5-of-7 from beyond the arc to finish with a season-high 15 points. In addition, he dished out five assists and grabbed three boards. MATT SEIP matched Alexandre with 15 points to go along with five rebounds and one assist. STEVE LUCHANSKY added five points and three assists, while MONTY FARMER handed out four assists.

Antwan Claxton led the Fighter Tigers with 24 points, while Dashown Nelson followed with 22 points and a team-high nine rebounds. Devin Boyle came off the bench to chip in 15 points.

The Nittany Lions will host Penn State Abington in a NEAC South Division contest on Wednesday, January 30 at 8 p.m. They will join the women's team in hosting their Pink Game fundraiser with all proceeds going toward the Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County.
