Women's volleyball swept at LVC tri-match

ANNVILLE, PA - The Penn State Berks women's volleyball team fell 3-0 to host Lebanon Valley College and then suffered a 3-2 setback later in the day to Penn State Altoona at a tri-match on Saturday afternoon.

In the opener, the Dutchmen took the match on their home court by scores of 25-10, 25-11, 26-24. Against Altoona, Berks dropped the opener 25-20 before responding with a 25-22 triumph in the second game. Altoona took the third set 25-18, but Berks again evened it up with a 25-20 win in the fourth. The comeback bid fell short when Altoona closed out the match with a 15-5 win in the decisive fifth set.

In the two contests, Abbie Carr finished with a team-best 14 kills to go along with one solo block, and two block assists. Maddy Kessler finished the day with 13 kills and four block assists, while Madison Hetrick chipped in 12 kills. Natalie Dwyer added 11 kills and 14 digs, while Megan Lackman had 10 kills and 12 digs. Madison Wojciechowski finished with a team-high 38 digs and four service aces. MacKenzie Reed recorded 61 assists on the day, 44 of which came against Altoona.

The Nittany Lions will host Penn College in the first NEAC contest of the season on Tuesday, September 11 at 7 p.m.
