Men's soccer falls to SUNY Cobleskill

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks men's soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision to SUNY Cobleskill in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Saturday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions fall to 4-6-1 on the season and 2-4 in the NEAC, while the Fighting Tigers improve to 5-6 overall and 3-1 in league play.

SUNY Cobleskill got on the board early after the Nittany Lions were whistled for a foul in the box. Moussa Bamba converted the penalty kick to give the Fight Tigers a 1-0 lead just 4:08 into the contest.

Trent Johnson finished the first half with three saves to keep the deficit at just one goal heading into the break. Gerardo Sosa racked up four stops in the second half.

Tom Ulrich, Brenden Valverde, and Alex Williams all put shots on target, but keeper Josh Mazur was there to make the save on each shot.

SUNY Cobleskill outshot the Nittany Lions by a 19-6 margin (12-3 on goal) and held a 7-4 advantage on corner kicks.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Morrisville State for a NEAC contest on Saturday, October 6 at 3 p.m.
