MORRISVILLE, N.Y. - The Penn State Berks men's soccer team made a rally, but it came up short in a 2-1 setback to Morrisville State in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Saturday afternoon at Drake Field.

The Nittany Lions drop to 4-7-1 on the season and 2-5 in the NEAC, while the Mustangs improve to 6-4-1 overall and 5-1 in conference action.

Neither team was able to find the back of the net throughout the opening half of the contest. Berks outshot the Mustangs by a 7-6 margin (4-3 on goal) and held a 6-1 advantage on corners in the first 45 minutes.

Morrisville State broke through with a goal by Kossi Nodjo at the 50:28 mark of the contest. They tacked on to their lead with a score by Puan Aung in the 76th minute.

Josh Rios netted his third goal of the season off of a feed by Tom Ulrich in the 83rd minute to make it a 2-1 contest. The Nittany Lions got off two shots and earned one corner over the remainder of the match, but could not find the equalizer.

Trent Johnson finished the game with seven saves for Berks, while Cody Welkley had three stops for the Mustangs.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Elizabethtown College for a non-conference contest on Wednesday, October 10 at 7 p.m.
