Women's volleyball splits NEAC games

CAZENOVIA, N.Y. - The Penn State Berks women's volleyball team opened up play with a 3-0 victory over host Cazenovia College, but fell by a similar 3-0 score to Morrisville State to split a pair of North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) games on Saturday afternoon.

With the split, the Nittany Lions move to 5-10 on the season and 3-1 in NEAC play. Berks defeated Cazenovia by scores of 25-20, 25-13, 25-22. In the setback to Morrisville State, the Mustangs topped Berks by scores of 25-17, 25-16, 25-17.

In the two games combined, Maddy Kessler racked up 10 kills, followed by Abbie Carr with nine and Natalie Dwyer with eight. MacKenzie Reed totaled 31 assists and Madison Wojciechowski grabbed 20 digs and three service aces. Carr, Madison Hetrick, and Abbie Tuel both recorded a pair of solo blocks.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Keystone College for a non-conference contest on Tuesday, September 25 at 7 p.m.
