Women's soccer blanks Gallaudet

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team earned its second straight shutout in a 10-0 victory over Gallaudet in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Saturday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions improve to 4-2-1 on the season and 4-0 in the NEAC, while Gallaudet drops to 3-4-1 overall and 1-3 in the conference.

Caitlin Golden notched her fourth straight multi-goal scoring game and third hat-trick in the last four contests. In addition to the three goals, Golden added one assist to raise her team-best point total to 27 on the season.

Emily Clapper notched two goals for the second straight game, while Karina Raykova tallied one goal and contest-high two assists. Julia Green, Charlotte Pizzuto, Monica Pinel, and JoJo Zolli all netted one goal, while Alexa Lopez and Jess Mandeville recorded assists.

Bristol Pizzuto and Rylee Milligan split time in net. Milligan saw the only action in net with a pair of saves less than three seconds apart midway through the second period.

The Nittany Lions will travel to perennial powerhouse Johns Hopkins University for a non-conference contest on Wednesday, September 26 at 7 p.m.
