Men's soccer falls on the road to Arcadia

GLENSIDE, PA - The Penn State Berks men's soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision to Arcadia University in a non-conference contest on Thursday night at the Jean Lenox West Field.

The Nittany Lions fall to 3-4-1 on the season, while the Knights improve to 3-4 overall.

The teams played through a scoreless tie early in the first period before Julian Larrondo registered the first score for the Knights at the 32:23 mark. The score would remain that way heading into the halftime intermission. Out of the break, Arcadia scored a goal in the 50th minute and tacked on two more at the tail end of the next 10 minutes of play. The Knights capped off their scoring with a goal in the 87th minute.

Brenden Valverde recorded three shots and Tyler Brown followed with two, but neither was able to find the back of the net.

Trent Johnson notched six first half saves for the Nittany Lions.

Berks returns to action with a home NEAC contest against Gallaudet University on Saturday, September 22 at 3 p.m.
